Higgs bundles and their spectral data have had applications in different research areas of mathematics and physics. During 2015 the first weekend workshop is intended to bring young researchers in the area to highlight advances in their research, and inspire new perspectives from which to study Higgs bundles and its applications took place at the American Institute of Mathematics:
Current trends on spectral data for Higgs bundles I
This second weekend workshop “Current trends on spectral data for Higgs bundles II”, organized by Lara B. Anderson and Laura P. Schaposnik, shall precede “New perspectives on Higgs bundles, branes and quantization”, organized by Lara B. Anderson, David Baraglia, Laura P. Schaposnik, and Vivek Shende to take place June 13-17 2016 at the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, Stony Brook, USA.

Directions to the SCGP can be found here. For travel and hotel arrangements, please refer to your invitation from SCGP. The Workshop will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday June 11, so you should plan to arrive on Saturday morning to Stony Brook.
Conference Dinner:
Saturday June 11th. 7 p.m. Details will be given in the Welcome.
Schedule:
Invited Participants:
The weekend workshop will precede the SCGP Workshop “New perspectives on Higgs bundles, branes and quantization”, with the same group of approximately 40 participants - all participants will receive funding for meals during the weekend and week-long workshop, and it is expected that small amounts of funding will become available for travel and/or lodging support for PhD students and early post-docs.
If you would like apply to participate, there is an open application to fill a few places: please complete the application form here. The deadline is April 13, 2016.
Organizers:
Lara B. Anderson (Virginia Tech)
Laura P. Schaposnik (University of Illinois)
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact them at lara.anderson "at" vt.edu and schapos at illinois.edu.
The workshop is made possible by generous support from these organizations:
* NSF through the grant DMS-1509693.
* GEAR Network, through U.S. National Science Foundation grants DMS 1107452, 1107263, 1107367 "RNMS: Geometric Structures and Representation Varieties" (the GEAR Network).
* University of Illinois at Chicago through a start up fund.
* The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics,
