I am an Associate Professor at the Mathematics Department of the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have held visiting positions at several places -- see my CV above for a full list. The most recent vVisiting Associate Professorhips/memberships:

I finished my DPhil in Mathematics at the University of Oxford, in January 2013. My thesis is titled "Spectral data for G-Higgs bundles", and was done under the supervision of Nigel Hitchin. 

My research is partially supported by the NSF grants DMS-1509693 and CAREER DMS 1749013.

My husband James A. Unwin is a phycisist.

Our son, Nikolay A. Unwin Schaposnik, was born on August 22 2018; 

I was born in 1985, and raised in Argentina. My mother, Patricia Massolo, was a nuclear physicist (1950-1993), and my father, Fidel A. Schaposnik, is a theoretical physicist working at the University of La Plata, UNLP (since 1995 he has been writing has a great cooking book!). I grew up with my brother, Fidel I. Schaposnik, who is now a postdoctoral researcher in theoretical physics in the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHES), France.

I started studying piano in 1993, and in 2003 I begun music studies (FoBa) at the Conservatory Gilardo Gilardi, the Music Conservatory of La Plata, Argentina, where I studied until 2007.

From 2004 to 2008 I was an undergraduate student at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. I obtained my degree of Licenciada en Matematica (equivalent to a Master´s degree in Maths) under the supervision of Jorge Solomin - my thesis was on a symplectic approach to Lagrangian mechanics.

From 2008 to 2012 I did my graduate studies at New College, University of Oxford, under the supervision of Nigel Hitchin. My research was in Differential and Algebraic Geometry, studying surface group representations into real forms by means of Higgs bundles and their spectral data. I graduated in 2013 with my thesis "Spectral data for G-Higgs bundles". 

From 2012 to 2013 I held my first Post-Doctoral position as a Wissenschaftlicher Assistent, at Heidelberg University, Germany, working in Anna Wienhard´s Differential Geometry Research Group. My second post-doc was during 2013-2015, as a J. L. Doob Research Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
